On Saturday night, unless you are staying in one of the area shelters, no other option for a meal is available. To meet this need, we've created a new project Saturday afternoons in Bushnell Park to distribute bagged sandwich meals to people who would otherwise go hungry that night. You will assemble the sandwiches at your own location, bag and take them to Bushnell Park on Saturday afternoon to distribute to approximately 60 people. This volunteer project accepts a maximum of 5 volunteers. Only volunteers who confirm their slot with Rose Eagen, program coordinator at 860-523-8700, will be allowed to volunteer for this project. Volunteers should meet near the carousel in Bushnell Park.
