Billings Forge Community Works Grand Opening May 3 and 4

May 3rd, 2010

A Two Day Event

May 3, 2010 and May 4, 2010

Billings Forge Community Works is excited to announce the opening of The Kitchen Cafe, and is looking for volunteers to help distribute fliers and coupons to spread the word of the grand opening.

Distribution will take place in areas of Hartford and selected suburbs.

Profits from The Kitchen Café will be reinvested in the community via Billings Forge Community Works, a non-profit 501-c3 committed to the revitalization of the Frog Hollow neighborhood through food access and security, the arts, education and job training.

The Billings Forge campus is home to 98 families along with Firebox, The Kitchen Catering and Artisinal Bakery, The Studio, The Workshops, The Farmers Market and The Garden. All economic enterprises are working to build community stability and vitality in Frog Hollow, regularly ranked as one of the five poorest neighborhoods in the country. Thank you for considering this opportunity to help!

There are two days for this event:

 May 3, 2010: 7:30am-2pm and May 4, 2010: 7:30am-2pm

Volunteers do not need to work entire shift or both days; hours can be broken out among volunteers.  (Ages 18-65)

Contact Danielle Neary by phone at (860) 878-2323 or via email at danielleneary@comcast.net for more details on volunteer opportunities.
